A Millard North student was arrested for bringing a knife to school and threatening another student Wednesday afternoon. The 14-year-old student was booked for terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Below is an email sent to parents by Millard North principal Brian Begley:

Dear Millard North Community,

I am writing to let you know about a situation that occurred today. A student brought a knife to school and said they were going to hurt another student. We were made aware of the comments and worked with law enforcement to investigate. The student was arrested.

Safety is our top priority. Threats will not be tolerated. We will always investigate any comment or concern, and we appreciate the support of Millard North Security Resource Officer John Martinez and the Omaha Police Department. Additionally, we will always apply our own consequences based on the MPS student code of conduct.

This matter was handled without a disruption to the learning day. I am simply passing the information along to keep you informed.

Sincerely,
Brian Begley, Principal
Millard North High School

This is a developing story.
