OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The United State's Postal Service is expecting to ship 1.5 million cards and packages out of Nebraska and Southwest Iowa Monday.

KMTV 3 News Now waited in line at two local post offices to see how long it took to ship an item.

The West Omaha Station saw dozens looking to ship gifts Monday afternoon. The Postal Office near 102nd and Military Avenue tended to a smaller crowd at noon.

Still need to ship before December 25? The Postal Service has mail-by dates to ensure delivery by the holidays:

- Dec. 20: First-Class Mail and Priority Mail

- Dec. 22: Priority Mail Express
