A former day care worker faces more charges after police say he admitted to sexually abusing multiple children.
The Douglas County Attorney’s Office issude the following statement Friday:
“Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine states his office is filing new felony charges against Mark Mays today. There will be one additional charge of first degree sexual assault on a child (Class1B). This charge carries a 20-year to life sentence with a 15-year mandatory minimum. He also is charging five additional felony charges of visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct (making child porn) (Class 1D). These charges each carry a three to 50-year sentence. These are in addition to the original charge of first-degree sexual assault on a child.”
Mays was arrested on Feb. 5.
