OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — An early morning fire left two people injured, one with potentially critical injuries.

Fire crews were called to an apartment fire near 61st and Spencer. On arrival, crews found light smoke showing from a second-story window of an apartment. While searching, one adult female was found unconscious with burns, and the victim was transported to UNMC.

A second victim was rescued from the building and transported to UNMC. Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental due to food being left burning on the stove.
