BREAKING: Multiple people have been injured after a truck slammed into a group of people praying outside of Lincoln's Planned Parenthood Friday.
According to Lincoln Police, a pickup truck headed south on 48th Street, approaching Old Cheney, was traveling too fast for conditions just after 1 p.m.. The driver saw cars stopped in front of him and veered right in order to avoid a collision. His truck left the roadway and struck several people standing outside, and says he did not see the pedestrians prior to the crash.
Three people were struck and taken to to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A witness said 200 people were praying outside Planned Parenthood, a clinic at 5631 S. 48th St. that provides women's health services.
Lincoln Police are investigating but don't believe it was intentional.
The driver was cited and released with negligent driving.
