NDOT reports 249 deaths on NE roads in 2019

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — According to the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), 249 people were killed on Nebraska roads in 2019 compared to 230 in 2018.

The total fatality number includes vehicle occupants, motorcyclists and pedestrians.

Of the 204 vehicle occupants killed, only 69 were wearing seat belts.

In December 2019 alone, 20 people were killed in traffic crashes in Nebraska, according to NDOT data.
