Because of overcrowding, the Nebraska Humane Society is offering free cats six months and older.
Additionally, all kittens are 2 for $100 Monday. The Humane Society was they are experiencing a large influx of cats.
"During the spring and summer, shelters get inundated with cats because there's no leash law in Omaha, a lot of care free-roaming," NHS spokeswoman Pam Wiese said. "A lot of cats aren't fixed, those cats get together and the result is a lot of babies so every summer we get a lot of cats."
To prevent the overcrowding, the Humane Society said to spay or neuter your cat and if possible, don't let them roam outside.
