OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — After weeks helping deal with protesters and COVID-19, the Nebraska National Guard is shifting some of that focus to their next mission.
State Guard commanders say nearly 1,200 members were put on duty for various assignments in the past few months.
Two of those assignments, helping with area food banks and delivering personal protection equipment items, were turned over to others last week.
Right now, the guard is doing smaller group training which will ramp up in July.
