LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — On the steps of the Nebraska Capitol, five state senators took time out of a day to join Nebraskans from across the state for a rally to kick-off TRUE Nebraskans' 2020 ballot initiative.
"This is the only effort for property tax relief which will unite every Nebraskan because it treats every Nebraskan equally regardless of where they live or what their profession is," said Paul Von Behren, President of TRUE Nebraskans' LLC.
TRUE (Tax Relief Unites Everyone) Nebraskans' petition states that in 2021 Nebraskans will pay their property taxes as normal and receive a 35 percent rebate credit on their Nebraska income tax. Signing the petition is only stating that the measure should go on the 2020 ballot, to be voted on.
