OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — There's a new food pantry in South Omaha.

It's located on South 25th Street at San Andreas Lutheran Church and is open every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The pantry is open to anyone who meets emergency food assistance program requirements.

The pantry's executive director said the volunteers and leadership team are all fluent in both English and Spanish and are working hard to meet the needs of the community.

“We started almost when the pandemic started,” said director Alejandra Rosas. “We had around 30 families and now we have almost 500 families a month. At the beginning, it was just the Latino community...now we are multicultural. We have people from every community.”
