New Year's Eve fireworks rescheduled

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Holiday Lights Festival New Year's Eve Fireworks Spectacular in the Gene Leahy Hall has been rescheduled, according to a release. 

The high temperature for Dec. 31 is -2 with a low of -16. 

The ceremony will now take place at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6. 

"The safety of the public is our greatest concern, and with the possibility of dangerously low temperatures, we feel it is in the best interest of the community to reschedule this year’s fireworks show," said Marc Nichols, the volunteer executive director for Downtown Omaha, Inc.
