OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed in some parts of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro due to weather. See more below.
OMAHA SOLID WASTE
The Public Works Department, Environmental Quality Division, announces that Solid Waste collections are suspended due to inclement weather. This suspension of collection is only for residential locations where garbage and recycling have not yet been serviced this week. Collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of this week. Friday’s collection area will be collected on Saturday. Residents are asked to make sure that carts are set out by 6 AM on Saturday to ensure collection. Residents also are advised to look towards the local news media for any updates. Missed collections may be reported to the Solid Waste Hotline at 402-444-5238 after 7:00PM on the scheduled collection day.
COUNCIL BLUFFS CITY WASTE
Due to blizzard conditions, trash and recycling collection has been canceled today, Friday, January 15, 2021, for Council Bluffs residents on City waste services.
Trash and recycling collection will resume Saturday, January 16, 2021.
Please be patient with waste haulers as they overcome difficult weather conditions. Placing trash and recycling on top of snow drifts is unacceptable and may lead to uncollected waste. Clean a place free of snow and ice within five (5) feet of the traveled roadway with a path wide enough to accommodate collection.
For more information, contact the Council Bluffs Recycling Center at (712) 890-5454.
