Eppley Airfield officials say people who use the airport soon can fly nonstop to Miami.
Officials say the daily American Airlines flights will begin July 5.
“The Omaha Airport Authority is delighted to see American Airlines’ continued investment in the Omaha market with this new nonstop service to Miami, Florida,” said Steve McCoy, manager of airline affairs for the Omaha Airport Authority
"This announcement marks the second new destination by American from Omaha in two years and is a testament to passenger demand fueled by a strong local economy. The new flight will offer Omaha travelers opportunities not only to South Florida, but also throughout the American Airlines’ extensive Caribbean and Latin American network."
Miami will become American's sixth nonstop service from Eppley.
Miami will also be the 27th destination travelers can reach by nonstop flights from Omaha.
American plans to use 76-passenger jet aircraft for the Miami flights.
