NORFOLK, Neb. (KMTV) — In addition to ongoing flooding, blizzard-like conditions are expected in the Norfolk area tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Madison County starting at 5 a.m. tomorrow, ending at 1 a.m. on Friday. Snowfall is expected along with high winds and a light glaze of ice. A snow emergency is not currently being declared, but citizens are encouraged to stay aware of all conditions involving the snow and ice.

Operations will be limited due to flooding if a snow emergency is declared.

Near white-out conditions can hide water across roadways.

Officials are urging Norfolk and surrounding residents to avoid travel until conditions improve.

Residents in Antelope, Pierce, and Madison counties can contact the Emergency Operations Center with questions at (402)-844-2241.
