Nov. 10 is officially Adam Devine Day in Omaha

Comedian and actor Adam Devine has his own day in Omaha. The Millard South graduate posted on Instagram Wednesday saying Mayor Jean Stothert proclaimed Nov. 10 "Adam Devine Day." 

Devine performed two shows at the Orpheum Theater over the weekend as part of a Netflix comedy special that will in the air in the fall.

They gave me my own day in Omaha! These are my parents. They went through a lot raising me. Not only was I a maniac little kid who was always trying to scam my neighbors by selling them back things I stole from their garages (rubber bands), making the neighborhood kids sick by selling them all nickelodeon gack (squished up poisonous berries) but I also was constantly almost dying (cement truck, OD on my neighbors pills that I thought was candy). This Saturday the mayor of Omaha proclaimed Nov 10th to forever and always be Adam Devine day. Absolutely insane. I want to proclaim that all other days are my parents day in my life. I love them so much. I’ll keep nov 10th though. Cause the mayor said so. Love you mom and Dad! 📸 @atibaphoto

While Devine was in town he also visited the Children's Hospital of Omaha, where he spent time as a child after being hit by a cement truck.

I just got done touring the Children’s hospital of Omaha. As many of you know (because I won’t shut up about it) I was hit by a cement truck as a kid and spent a lot of time at this children’s hospital. Many people do t know that Children’s hospitals are privately funded and need donations in order to survive! It was awesome meeting these kids and see how brave they are being as they deal with issues that a lot of times are life threatening. It was also cool meeting the nurses that take care of these brave kids. Some of these nurses took care of me. I love this place and love these people. ❤️ you Omaha! @childrensomaha @cmnhospitals
