OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Over the weekend, the Nebraska State Patrol seized 244 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Seward County.
On Saturday afternoon, they say a trooper observed a Ford Explorer traveling eastbound, while speeding, near Goehner. During a stop, the trooper detected the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and a search was carried out.
They say troopers found marijuana in the cargo area of the vehicle and arrested the three occupants.
The occupants were identified as:
- 52-year-old Peter Sychamp of Sacramento - Driver of the vehicle
- 57-year-old Pisa Phanthavong of Sacramento - Passenger
- 22-year-old Marich Poomchat of Thailand - Passenger
The men were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and lodged in Seward County Jail.
