OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On Thursday, Omaha firefighters will continue a 66-year long tradition of supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association and local children with a steak fry fundraiser.
From 11 am-2 pm and 4 pm-7 pm, firefighters will be serving up steaks with all the fixings at the Firefighter's Union hall at 6005 Grover Street.
The cost of $12 per plate helps funds research into muscular dystrophy and related diseases. It's also used to send area children impacted by the disease to a special camp in Fremont, at no cost to parents.
The fundraiser is part of a group effort by the International Association of Fire Fighter's who have partnered with the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 1954.
