Officers injured in crash while responding to call

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — This afternoon, the Omaha Police Department says two officers were responding to a call when they were involved in a crash, leaving them both injured.

Officers Carlie Potts and Brian Hayes were exiting southbound I-680 onto Fort Street, with their lights and sirens on, when they were in a collision with a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Jo Anne Barnes.

Potts suffered an injury to his hand. Hayes had complaints of head pain.

Both officers were transported to Nebraska Medicine by another officer.

Barnes was uninjured.
