Omaha dentist indicted for health care fraud

Omaha dentist Gregory Garro Jr., 58, was one of 412 people throughout the country involved in the largest health care fraud enforcement action by the Medicare Fraud Strike Force of all time.

According to the release from U.S. Attorney Robert C. Stuart's office, Garro was submitting claims and receiving reimbursement from Nebraska Medicaid for dental services he did not provide. 

Between 2013 and 2016, he received more than $82,000 from Nebraska Medicaid. 

In total, 24 counts of health care fraud are charged in the indictment. Garro will appear in federal court in Lincoln on July 24.
