OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Fire Department (OFD) responded to a working fire near 60th & Q St on Friday afternoon.
OFD says the fire happened in an open air, metal structure used to prepare vehicles for crushing.
Smoke was seen on approach and crews had difficulty reaching the structure and securing a water supply because of the structure's location.
A working fire was declared at 2:52 p.m.
Crews extinguished the fire around 3:35 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
There were no smoke detectors present, according to OFD.
Smoke detectors are available and installed or free from the Omaha Fire Department Pub-Ed office (402-444-3560).
