Gabriel Cardona, the man accused of raping his girlfriend's 10-year-old daughter on July 9, was charged with sexual assault of a child Tuesday.
Police say the young girl's mom caught Cardona in the act and Cardona pulled up his pants and fled on foot. He was arrested after police set up a perimeter. According to prosecutors, Cardona had sexually assaulted her once before.
His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 2
