OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A plaque dedication ceremony to honor the fallen and their families was held at the Omaha National Cemetery today. The plaque will be permanently placed on cemetery grounds to ensure their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
The Department of Veterans Affairs and National Cemetery Administration are partnering with Carry the Load relay teams across the country to connect Americans to the sacrifices made by military service members and their families.
Carry the Load is a non-profit dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by military, veterans, first responders and families.
Three routes covering more than 11,500 miles will travel through 40 states and visit 26 VA national cemeteries.
