City leaders will host a dedication of the Korea-Vietnam Peace Memorial replica Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Park.
The city of Omaha will recognize the memorial as a symbol of military service and sacrifice and celebrate all the renovations that have taken place at Memorial Park, according to the city's parks and recreation department's Twitter page.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Renovations on the World War II Colonnade and the statue replica began when veterans and people expressed concerns after the memorials fell into less-than ideal conditions.
A private donor and some funds from the city went towards the project.
On This Morning, I’m at Memorial Park. Last August, we showed you why these memorials needed renovations. Today, the city will unveil the replica - we even got a glimpse of it. LIVE reports at 6 & 6:30 a.m. @3NewsNowOmaha https://t.co/ZC3aP1HOha
