OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Parks and Rec leaders are looking for volunteers to help keep a newly made-over city part looking good.

The City Parks and Recreation Department will host a park clean-up and celebration for their volunteers today at Levi Carter Park.

The appreciation event will consist of a community park cleanup from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and an awards reception will follow beginning at 4. The awards being handed out include lifetime volunteer, 2019 volunteer group of the year, and school volunteer group of the year.

The park underwent $1.2 million of renovations, including a new playground and splashground. The make over was revealed in July.
