OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019, and has unveiled a new logo.

The refreshed logo design was inspired by the badge worn by the sworn officers of the Omaha Police Department and features a starburst image and a bison in the center. Founded in 1999, the Foundation provides financial support for the Omaha Police Department to ensure that officers have the proper training, equipment, and technology needed to make Omaha a safer community.

Over the past 19 years, the Foundation has raised more than $5 million to implement several major improvements for OPD, including the purchasing of equipment, officer recruitment and training programs, community relations, and officer recognition.
