An Omaha Police officer was shot at while seated in his vehicle Saturday afternoon, at 7:04 p.m. OPD booked 18-year-old Xavier Valentine for felony assault of an officer and gun used in a felony.
According to a release, the officer was in an unmarked car and observed Valentine, who he knew to be a gang member, with a gun in his hand, as the officer was putting on his tactical vest the shots were fired.
The officer was not hit and did not fire his weapon, but the police vehicle and another unoccupied vehicle in the area were hit.
The officer suffered minor glass injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
On Monday, Valentine had his bond set at $1,000,000.
