OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — After someone robbed a west Omaha Sprint store at gunpoint this afternoon, police chased down and ultimately arrested the two suspects.

They were able to stop their vehicle around 97th and Maple, arresting one there... but the other got away and took off.

For several hours, police searched backyards and walked the streets, looking for a man suspected of armed robbery.

Eventually, they found him hiding in the bushes in a front yard.

"I was looking out my window and seen the cops grab something and grab it and then I seen it where he was laying on the ground," said resident Bob Murdock.

Murdock saw it all happen across the street. After growing nervous of the heavy police presence, he could take a sigh of relief when he saw the suspect being handcuffed.

"I have an 18-month-old daughter and a ten-year-old son that was locked up in school down the street. So very safe now," said Murdock.

It all began after a Sprint store on 144th and West Maple was robbed just after noon Monday.

The suspects fled east, eventually coming to a halt around 97th and Maple.

Police say nobody was hurt during the robbery and that it was an isolated incident.

"No, there were not any shots fired and we have no indication that this was related to the robberies that occurred overnight," said Marcia West, OPD Captian.
