Police release mugshots of Sprint Store robbery suspects

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Yesterday, suspects robbed a Sprint Store near 149th and Maple Streets and led police on a chase to the area of 97th and Binney. The first suspect was taken into custody quickly but the other was found after a search which lasted about two hours.

Police say 36-year-old Donte Leeper was arrested and booked for Robbery, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

37-year-old Edward Lewis was booked for Robbery, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Flight to Avoid Arrest.

Employees at the store told police that they were forced into a storage room at gunpoint and tied up. After securing the employees, the suspects allegedly took several items and fled in a black Chevy Impala but changed vehicles to a white Chevy Tahoe.

Police attempted to stop the Tahoe but say the driver refused and and led them to the area of 97th and Binney Streets.

They say "one suspect was caught after a short foot pursuit and the other was located as officers searched the area."
