OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - After four candidates were interviewed in a public session, OPS board members voted 7-1 Monday night to appoint Tracy Casady, a human resources manager and mother of three, to the seat.

Casady is a graduate of Omaha South High School and her two oldest daughters attend school in the district. She will be officially sworn in on July 10 and her appointment will last until Dec. 31, 2020.

Casady is taking over the seat that was vacated by Vinny Palermo in OPS District 9. Applicants were required to live in District 9 and the deadline to apply was last week.
