Yesterday - neighbors living near Blood Creek at 51st and Madison Circle voiced concerns about garbage collecting in the creek.

Neighbors say the creek floods to property lines when there are heavy rains.

Today - Omaha Sewer Maintenance is evaluating erosion at the site using drone technology.

Sewer maintenance is checking for blockages along the creek path and evaluating erosion near the sewer line.

The creek is among 69 sites where sewer lines pipes are exposed due to erosion. Those have all been evaluated to determine if the sewer is leaking or if the pipe is compromised.

It's one of the sites being evaluated for future repairs using the city’s new drone.

Sewer maintenance plans to restructure the creek this summer to prevent further soil erosion using rip rap. The department also plans to replant native vegetation along the creek.

Any trees or brush cut down at that time, will be removed.
