Mayor Stothert's office released an update on snow removal in Omaha:

We have made a lot of progress since Sunday. At this point, all streets have been plowed, and many main roads are plowed to pavement.

Remaining snowpack and ice are not reacting to salt due to below zero temps overnight, so we're using liquid calcium chloride today to get the ice to break in trouble locations on main and secondary streets.

On residential streets, we are spreading sand.

We plan to pick up snow piles in the middle of the downtown, Dodge and Maple locations beginning Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
