OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — One person is dead in Sarpy County after the vehicle they were riding in drove down an embankment and into a creek.
Shortly after 2am on Wednesday morning, the Springfield Fire Department and Sarpy County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal crash on 180th Street approximately .5 miles south of Pflug Road.
A 1998 Chevrolet Camaro occupied by two individuals left the roadway, went down an embankment and came to rest on its side in a creek. One individual died at the scene.
The other individual was able to climb out of the vehicle; they were transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office.
