A deadly crash happened on the JFK Freeway near the L Street exit around 12:30 a.m. Monday because of a vehicle traveling the wrong direction.
Monday afternoon, the victim was identified as 27-year-old William Villagran. Villagran was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when he struck a Trailblazer, according to police.
The driver of the Trailblazer, 47-year-old Lonny Jameson was taken to the hospital with pain in his chest and back.
Police are still investigating whether or not alcohol was a factor.
