Lancaster County deputies are investigating a deadly crash involving two semis Tuesday morning.
Deputies say around 6 a.m., a truck hauling rock was westbound on Waverly Road crossing the four lanes of Highway 77. After stopping at the stop sign, the trick collided with the drivers side of a grain truck that was headed southbound on Highway 77. The grain truck overturned and caught fire, killing 21 year old Brandon Gerdes of Osmond, Nebraska. The driver of the rock truck, 67 year old Gary Jacobsen of Garland, Nebraska went to a hospital and is in critical but stable condition.
Investigators say it does not appear that Jacobsen was wearing a seat belt.
