One person in custody following non-fatal shooting

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — One person is in custody following a shooting that occurred last night on N. 48th St.

Around 7:30, officers responded to 4310 N 48th St #D for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers say they contacted the victim Lefarich Lindsey, 28, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported by ambulance to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where it was determined his injuries were non-life-threatening.

Officers reported that the suspect was running from the area, and he was detained.

Craig Cooper, 41, was arrested and booked into Douglas Count Corrections for 1st Degree Felony Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Possession of a Weapon by Prohibited Person, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Fugitive From Justice for an unrelated warrant out of another jurisdiction.
