OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department (OPD) says it arrested a suspect who allegedly intimidated a 15-year-old girl into getting into his vehicle and sexually assaulting her.
OPD says the juvenile victim was approached by the suspect, 28-year-old Davon Carroll, while in the area of 3700 Grand Avenue on Tuesday, September, 20. After the girl refused to get into his car, the victim told police that he became aggressive and blocked her pathway until she consented to get in.
The suspect then drove the girl to the area of 74th and Military Avenue where she said she was sexually assaulted.
Based on the girl's description, and a partial plate number, police were able to track the suspect down and include him in a photo lineup. The victim picked out Carroll as her attacker from the lineup.
On Wednesday, OPD carried out a search warrant during which they identified, detained and transported Carroll to Central police headquarters. During questioning, OPD says he admitted to having sexual contact with the girl.
Caroll has since been booked at Douglas County Corrections for two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child.
