OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department (OPD) wants to get prescription drugs off Omaha Streets. To do so, they are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Agency for their 17th Drug Take Back Day.
The collection is free to anyone wanting to rid their home of prescription drugs which they say are often abused and stolen for use/illegal sale.
Over the past 16 events, OPD says nearly 11 million pounds of drugs have been accepted for disposal.
No "liquids or needles or sharps" will be accepted.
The event will be on Saturday, April 27 from 10am-2pm at:
Hy-Vee at 132nd and Dodge Streets
Hy-Vee at 90th and Center Streets
Walgreens at 24th and Vinton Streets
Walgreens at 30th and Lake Streets
