OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Police say a man was apparently shot by accident when friends were playing with a gun on Tuesday.

At 11:05 p.m., Gang Detectives and other officers responded to 4721 North 66th Street for a report of a shooting.

At the scene, officers found 27-year-old Per Kaw suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Through the course of their investigation, police say they determined 23-year-old Ler Shee "unintentionally" shot Kaw.

Shee was arrested and booked into Douglas County Corrections for the charge of second degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of financial transaction devices.

Kaw was transported by ambulance to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
