OPD gang unit arrests two suspects for gun and crack charges

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Today, Omaha Police carried out two simultaneous search warrants in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives. As a result, they say two suspects have been taken into custody for charges related to guns and more than seven ounces of crack and powder cocaine.

The suspects:

34-year-old Kevin Johnson - Booked for Possession with Intent to Deliver - Crack w/ Gun, Possession of a stolen Firearm. Felon in possession of a firearm.

28-year-old Jordan Cotton - Booked for Possession with Intent to Deliver- Crack w/ Gun. Felon in possession of a Firearm.

Police say seven ounces of crack cocaine and 1/2 ounce of powder cocaine were seized in addition to two handguns; one of which was stolen. They say both men were known gang members and they believe these arrests will have a "significant impact on crime."

An investigation is ongoing.
