UPDATE: 6:41 p.m.:
Omaha Police have released more information about a shooting Wednesday afternoon that injured on person.
Police were called to the Bluffs and Cherry Hills apartment complex near 108th & Military around 2:30 to investigate a shooting. Officers did not find a victim and witnesses told them they heard several shots in the area and teenage boys running from the area.
A short time later, officers were informed that a shooting victim stopped at 72nd and Military, and was taken by a private vehicle to Immanuel Hospital. Doctors treated 18 year old Xavier Valentine for a single gunshot wound that is not life threatening.
Omaha Police were conducting a shooting investigation at 72nd Street and Military Avenue on Wednesday.
OPD said the driver of a car was shot near 108th Street and Redick Avenue and was attempting to drive himself to the hospital around 2:30 p.m. Monday when he hit a curb.
A bystander checked on the man, then drove him to CHI Health Immanuel Medical Center, where he was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Eastbound Military was closed while officers investigated the incident, and remained closed as of 5:45 p.m. Monday.
