OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department (OPD) says a motorcyclist died after swerving to miss a turning semi, only to be involved in a fatal wreck with a mini-van.
OPD says the motorcyclist, 20-year-old Any Mendoza, was traveling near the intersection of 35th and L Streets where an eastbound semi-truck was turning onto 35th Street just before 11 a.m.
When Mendoza swerved into eastbound lanes, to avoid the turning truck, police say he collided with the mini-van.
Mendoza was transported to a nearby hospital with life-saving measures in progress but later died.
No charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
