OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department is reporting a robbery at a Walgreens off 30th and Dodge, a cutting just off 37th and Cass and a shooting just off 30th and Ames on Thursday.

Police say they arrived at the Walgreens, located at 3001 Dodge Street, for a robbery that took place at 8:45 p.m. Witnesses told officers that a man entered the store and displayed a firearm, which police say was a pellet gun, and demanded cash. After receiving the money, he fled from the store and left in a green sedan.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • In his mid-twenties
  • Wearing black pants and a black sweatshirt.
  • Wearing a surgical mask at the time of the robbery.

About a mile away, at 37th and Cass, officers investigated a cutting just after 10 p.m.

They say 28-year-old Michael Hicks was booked for 2nd Degree DV Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, 2 counts of 3rd Degree Assault, and Child Abuse by Neglect.

The charges appear to have stemmed from an argument that turned violent between Hicks and 40-year-old Sakessa Moss. Moss told officers that 20-year-old Sakira Moss and two children intervened. During their intervention, all four were injured they say.

A shooting took place at Big Jim's at 3024 Ames Avenue.

Witnesses say two parties were talking in the parking lot when a gun was fired.

Upon arrival, police found 26-year-old Chris Freeman suffering from a gunshot wound. Freeman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information about the event is asked to call police.
