OPD searching for suspect in credit union robbery

According to the Omaha Police Department (OPD), officers responded to a robbery at the Omaha Police Federal Credit Union at 3003 S. 82nd Ave at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said that the suspect entered the Credit Union wearing a mask and holding a firearm. He demanded money from the registers and after receiving an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot.

Witnesses stated they observed the suspect get into a white SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade and flee onto I-80 westbound at a high rate of speed.

Suspect description: Black male, large stature, wearing a black coat

Vehicle description: White, Dirty SUV with NO plates, possibly a Cadillac Escalade.
