OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — As bitter cold continues to pummel the area, the Open Door Mission is asking for help in keeping homeless men, women and children out of harm's way.
"These temperatures are life-threatening to people living on the streets. We are praying for everyone who is living on the streets to seek shelter at Open Door Mission or somewhere safe," says Candace Gregory, President/CEO of Open Door Mission. "Our staff has been busy preparing extra food to serve more meals and getting supplies ready. We will provide extra gloves, hats and scarves to every guest that comes through our doors," says Gregory.
The Open Door Mission is asking for "men's winter gloves, especially larger sizes and bottled water."
