Reports indicate that many power outages were caused by tree branches, which snapped under the weight of heavy snow and leaves.
At its peak, nearly 55,000 customers were without power. As of 9:30 p.m., outages were reduced to 28,000 in Douglas County and close to 30,000 in total.
Crews are working thru the night to restore circuits, which will bring the majority of customers back on. Crews then turn to individual outages. Those will bring 99% of customers back on by end of day Monday. Crews will continue working until all power is restored
