The search to find a new leader of Nebraska's largest public school district continued Sunday when the Omaha Public Schools board held a closed session to go over a large applicant pool.

The board reviewed all 74 applications they received, which was double the amount from last year.

Communications director Monique Farmer said the board brought in a search firm to assure the process was fair and objective.

The board hopes to have between two and five semifinalists by Jan. 22.
