Leaders within Omaha Public Schools district will have their salaries frozen and cellphone stipends eliminated.

Our partners at the Omaha World-Herald report board members voted on the salary changes last night. Currently, the only employees affected are executive directors, in-house legal counsel, chief officers, assistant superintendents and department directors. Their salaries range from roughly $100,000 to $185,000.

The district is working to make up a $28.8 million budget deficit.
