Council Bluffs PD officials say a woman has died in the hospital after she was struck by a car on 35th and Broadway Tuesday night.
According to CBPD, at around 11:00 p.m., the victim was walking northbound in the crosswalk, when a truck traveling west bound struck her.
Officers and medics arrived on scene and determined the female was in critical condition and was transported to Creighton Medical Center where she later died.
The victim has been identified as Sharon Richards.
The driver was identified as Steven Hart.
Officials say Hart was interviewed by officers at the scene and will not face any charges in the accident.
CBPD officials said that Richards crossed the roadway against the pedestrian crosswalk signal when the accident occurred.
