One man was seriously hurt in a hit and run crash caused by an alleged drunk driver.

Sarpy County deputies say 32 year old Jason Guthrie was walking home just before 11pm Wednesday when he was hit by a truck or van near 156th and Chandler.

After getting a description of the vehicle from witnesses, deputies found the vehicle with damage from an accident in front of the home it was registered to.

Deputies then arrested 53 year old Daniel Kallhoff for aggravated DUI, willful reckless driving, driving on the shoulder and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

Deputies say Kallhoff's blood alcohol level was just over three times the legal limit.

"Being that it was in somewhat of a residential area it was assumed that the vehicle would probably be going home at that time of night and as it turned out that's exactly what happened and we were able to catch the suspect quick," said Captain Chris Culler with the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office.

The U-Haul stytle van is used by Mr. Tile Inc. and is currently at the Sarpy County Impound Lot.

Kallhoff is at the Sarpy County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

Guthrie was last listed in fair condition at the Nebraska Medical Center.
