Sarpy County deputies say a woman was struck and killed by a car on Highway 75 early Wednesday morning.
Dispatchers received a call just before 3 a.m. of a woman walking south on Highway 75 in the southbound lanes. As dispatchers called to send a deputy to check on the woman, they received a call from a driver who said they had just hit a pedestrian just north of Cornhusker Road in the southbound lane of the highway, The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies say the 64 year old driver was on his way home from work, and it appears the woman had been walking in the middle of the right hand lane when she was hit.
Officials have identified the woman as 61-year-old Patricia A. Hall.
highway was closed for about two and a half hours while deputies investigated.
